Some have argued that the right to religious freedom is the quintessential human right; that it trumps other rights. Others seek to “free” the public square of anything that signifies religious presence. Following a consideration of Quebec’s Bill 21 and against the backdrop of the debate in Quebec our conversation will explore the implications for a pluralistic society.
